They really should have left this into the theatrical cut. It expands on Eomer’s character (and shows off Karl’s great range) and it establishes 1. Where Eowyn and Faramir went for the final battle and 2. Sets them up as meeting so that later you understand why they’re together at the end.

"The hands of the king are the hands of a healer, and so shall the rightful king be known." This should not have been deleted.

I think what makes this scene so incredible is its juxtaposition to one of the most epic battle scene ever. In battle, warriers HAVE to be fierce killing machines. They cannot be human. And yet right after that, these two warriers are able to drop that warrior masculinity and channel their ennergy into fierce protective sadness/caring/guarding/ healing That is truly beautiful.

Man I just read that it is Liv Tyler singing in that scene's score. I've been a fan of LOTR movies for nearly 2 decades and I didn't notice, honestly thought it was a singer. I love that scene (and never seen the theatrical version bc I was too small and always watched the DVD and now good cinemas show the extended versions too haha) what a late discovery 😂

The perfect song for a masterpiece of a game. BioWare *really* outdid themselves with this gem - An unforgettable crew, an original story, a multitude of choices...and even if you die, even if you choose the Ritual, even if you have another deliver the final blow to the Archdemon, the game gives you *this.* A perfect way to end the first entry of a magnificent tale.

The most heartbreaking part of this is when Eowyn wakes up. She sees Aragorn but isn't happy because she knows she can't have him. I have no idea how they didn't include this scene in the theatrical release.

Eowyn and Faramir were a perfect match.

The only thing odd is Gandalf smiling here. Even though he knows this will force Aragorn into his power, its still kinda weird.

Seeing a powerful and though soldier like Eomer in so much pain makes this scene even more tragic. Losing your comrades or your leader at war is one thing. But losing your little baby sister who you were supposed to take care of and keep safe is a different kind of devastation.

This is probably Ewoyn’s most beautiful scene

Despite Eomer's scream Gandalf does not care about him, he is just interested in the results.

Not including this in the original cut is the biggest fall of this masterpiece of a trilogy. Seeing this scene on big screen the first time would have been absolutely breathtaking.

During the final battle at the Black Gate, when Eomer finds it more satisfying to just smash his shield into orc face instead of using his sword,.. I like to believe it's because of his pain here.
